Buying in San Pedro del Pinatar

San Pedro del Pinatar is the town; Lo Pagán is its coast. They are two different markets and it pays not to mix them: in the town people buy to live, in Lo Pagán they buy for the summer, and that changes what people look for, what they pay and how fast it sells.

In the town centre there are more houses and townhouses than apartments, with small plots and courtyards. It's where people end up when they move here from the city of Murcia or from abroad and want a clinic, a market and a school within walking distance, not ten minutes' drive.

Los Cuarteros and El Salero are developments with a character of their own: quieter, with nineties and two-thousands townhouses, many with a private pool or a small communal one. They're good places to live, but you drive to the water, you don't walk — and that needs to be clear before you buy.

The Salinas Regional Park is the jewel and also a constraint: some land is protected and not everything can be built or extended. When someone asks us about building on a plot, the first thing we check is what the planning rules say, and sometimes the answer is no.
